Mortgage Calculator collects minimal account information for authentication. All mortgage calculations are performed entirely on your device.

Overview

Mortgage Calculator is developed by Sung Kim. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how the app handles your information.

In short: we collect only the information needed to create your account (email and optional phone number). All mortgage calculations are performed locally on your device.

Account Information

When you create an account, Mortgage Calculator collects:

Email address (required) — used for authentication and account recovery
Phone number (optional) — provided at your discretion during registration
Device model and platform — recorded at registration for support purposes

This information is stored securely using Google Firebase, a cloud platform provided by Google LLC. No additional personal information is collected beyond what you provide during registration.

Authentication

Mortgage Calculator uses Firebase Authentication to manage user accounts. Firebase handles password hashing, session tokens, and secure credential storage. We do not store your password directly — it is managed entirely by Firebase's secure infrastructure.

On-Device Processing

All mortgage calculations, amortization schedules, and scenario comparisons are performed entirely on your device. No calculation data is sent to any server.

Local Data Storage

When you save mortgage scenarios for later reference, that data is stored locally on your device only. It is never uploaded, synced, or shared with any external service. You can delete this data at any time by removing your saved scenarios within the app or by uninstalling the app.

Third-Party Services

Mortgage Calculator uses the following third-party services:

Firebase Authentication (Google LLC) — for secure account creation and sign-in
Cloud Firestore (Google LLC) — for storing account registration data
Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google LLC) — for push notifications

No advertising frameworks, behavioral analytics, or crash reporting tools are used.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings tab within the app. When you delete your account:

Your Firebase Authentication account is permanently deleted
Your registration data in Cloud Firestore is permanently deleted
This action cannot be undone

Internet Connection

An internet connection is required for account creation, sign-in, and push notifications. All mortgage calculations work fully offline.

Children's Privacy

Mortgage Calculator is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete the account.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the changes will be reflected on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
